Bodytools began in 1982 out of the trunk of a orange Volkswagen in Venice Beach selling massage tables to the local people. Later, the operations moved to a nearby Van Nuys Californian home. Kenny and Julie, the owners traveled extensively all over the country being on the road for weeks at a time visiting stores and going to tradeshows building the the business. Buyers would visit the tradeshows to purchase a slowly growing line of massage and body tools.
Around 1987 they opened a storefront where the Bodytools operations grew and grew.
In 1999 Bodytools moved to Northern California to Novato with a wholesale warehouse. In a buy-out Jewels got sole ownership of Bodytools and moved the business to a small ranch in Lakeport near the lake of Clearlake where it is now located. She has completely remodeled a large barn for warehousing and built offices for operations.
Over the years Bodytools has had over 150 employees and has sold over 5 million massage and body care products.
